The village of Saint-Jovite was officially founded in 1917. A few decades later, the village became a city, and it finally merged with the new large city of Mont-Tremblant in 2000. The city of Saint-Jovite no longer exists, but the name is still used to designate the territory of the former city.
In fact, Saint-Jovite is the entryway to an important internationally known tourist village. Highway 15, which comes from Montréal, crosses it from one side to the other, thus bringing a stream of vehicles and visitors. Vacationers are constantly looking for a place to do their favourite sports, whether it is skiing or snowboarding, sliding or hiking. You can also take advantage of the cycling path Le P’tit Train du Nord, which crosses the Laurentides region for 200 kilometres.
