Several attractions await you in the municipality of Saint-Eustache. The Saint-Eustache Church, which was almost completely destroyed during the battle between the Patriots and the British and later rebuilt, still houses its sacred furniture, such as the high and lateral altars as well as the pulpit. With a unique acoustics, it also has been serving as a recording studio for the Montréal Symphony Orchestra for more than 20 years.
Little haven of peace located in the heart of the municipality, the Maison et Jardins Chenier-Sauvé present thematic exhibitions and collections of perennial plants, trees, shrubs, exotic and indigenous plants will impress more than one. Horticultural visits, concerts, painting workshops and picnics are also organized on the site. And this isn’t all! Saint-Eustache also houses other historical buildings like the Moulin Légaré, the oldest flour mill in Canada, and the Manoir Globensky, which emphasizes the heritage and history of the city with exhibitions and guided tours.
If you want to live some thrills, visit the Autodrome Saint-Eustache, which invites you to attend NASCAR, Formule Ford, Moto Super Bike, acceleration and Street Drag races. If you prefer exotic activities, visit Exotarium where you can see more than 300 cold blood animals such as cobras, pythons, boas, crocodiles, lizards, frogs and iguanas. Nid’Otruche also proposes an interesting visit with its livestock farm that houses more than 200 ostriches. You will have the chance to go on a safari visit and watch ostrich races.
Also discover the agrotourism of the region by visiting the orchard La Magie de la Pomme and the Vignoble de la Rivière-du-Chêne. At the former, you will be welcomed by Princess Api, who will make you discover the painting exhibition and will accompany you in the field to pick your own pumpkin. You can also sample delicious apple bread and doughnuts and visit the little farm. The vineyard, for its part, will make you discover more than 50,000 vines, and you can taste and buy wine as well as numerous other regional products.
