Sainte-Sophie

Sainte-Sophie is the agricultural heart of the MRC and houses several agricultural and equestrian little farms. In a natural setting, sport lovers will be able to take the equestrian paths as well as the snowmobile and ATV trails. If you are looking for a family activity that will please everyone, visit the Jardin de Mamy where pedestrian paths run along the Achigan River and where you can admire magnificent flower gardens as well as a pond with a bridge and cascades. You will also get the chance to visit the little farm where turkeys, rabbits, ducks, sheep and goats will make younger ones happy.

Then go to the Fromagiers De La Table Ronde, a cheese factory that makes biological raw milk cheese, including the Rassembleu and cheddar cheese. You can observe the cheese maker at work and buy country products and cheese from the region. To end your visit of the municipality, stop at the Musée de Poupées Claire Poirier. This museum will make you relive 150 years of history by presenting you with an exhibition of 700 dolls. You will also find toys, a conservation workshop, picnic areas and gift shops.
